MINIWINI was born in 2022 — not in a lab, not in a boardroom, but from years of real travel frustration shared by two people who knew exactly what was wrong with personal care on the go.
Meet The Founders
Bhawna Garg is an advertising and design professional. Nikhil Garg is a software engineer whose career took him — and Bhawna — across the world. As a couple, they travelled constantly. And constantly, they faced the same problems every traveler knows too well.
- Toiletry bags that leaked and ruined everything inside
- Favourite shampoos and body washes confiscated at airport security for being over 100ml
- Skin and hair reacting badly to cheap hotel toiletries loaded with sulfates and parabens
- Hair and skin struggling to adjust to changing weather, water quality, and humidity across cities and countries
Bhawna had a particular frustration she couldn't shake: standing at airport security, being told to discard her favourite shampoo because the bottle was too large. Every single trip. Something she loved, gone — because the format was wrong, not the product.

Nikhil and Bhawna had different approaches to travel personal care, but the same underlying pain. There had to be a better way.
The Moment Everything Changed
In 2022, Bhawna found herself at a crossroads. The Covid era and a maternity break had created a gap in her design career — time she used to explore something she'd always loved: making things by hand. She began selling handmade soaps, and that curiosity led her deeper into formulation.
She started learning how to make shampoo.
And then she discovered something that stopped her cold.
Most shampoos are 80% water.
She couldn't believe it. She didn't trust it. She went back and checked again. The first ingredient on almost every shampoo bottle — the ingredient that makes up the largest proportion of the formula — was Aqua. Water. Up to 80% of what you're paying for is water.
“If the base ingredient is just water, why can't we replace it with something that actually does something for your hair?”
That question became MINIWINI.
8 Months. 30 Trials. One Perfect Formula.
Bhawna partnered with a renowned R&D team and spent 8 months in development — testing, failing, reformulating, and testing again. The goal was clear: replace water entirely with an active base that nourishes hair and skin, concentrate the formula 3x so it becomes travel-friendly, and make it a paste so it can never leak.
The answer was aloe vera and glycerin as the base — replacing water with ingredients that actively hydrate, soothe, and nourish with every wash.
What they discovered along the way surprised even them: the zero-water formula wasn't just more concentrated — it was 3x more hydrating and nourishing than conventional liquid shampoos. Removing water didn't just solve the travel problem. It made a fundamentally better product.
The result was Aloe Dense Technology — MINIWINI's proprietary formulation method that has since become the foundation of every product in the range.
